Oil pulling is an ancient ayurvedic remedy for oral health and overall health. It has the added advantage of teeth whitening naturally and removes harmful bacteria. Oil pulling is a very inexpensive therapy that could potentially have great benefit on oral health and overall detoxification.

Oil pulling process is a simple process which involves swishing (pulling) oil in the mouth for oral and systemic health benefits. It is mentioned in the Ayurvedic text Charaka Samhita where it is called Kavala or Gandusha, and is claimed to cure about 30 systemic diseases ranging from headache, migraine to diabetes and asthma.

How to do oil pulling?

The ideal volume of sesame oil used for oil pulling is 10 ml. For the convenience of the people, Idhayam packed sesame oil in 10 ml sachets in the brand name of Idhayam Wealth.

  • About 10 ml of Idhayam Wealth is taken in the mouth on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
  • Swish the oil around the mouth for 20 minutes, through the teeth by using all the facial muscles.
  •  As the oil mixes with saliva, it becomes very thin white liquid when it pulls the toxic substances present in the mouth. After 20 minutes, spit out the oil.

 Caution: Do not swallow

  • Rinse your mouth with water to remove oil residue, brush your teeth as usual and rinse again.

"The Idhayam sesame oil acts like a cleanser. When you put it in your mouth and work it around your teeth and gums it "pulls" out bacteria and other debris" which in turn fosters overall health.

Oil pulling using Idhayam Wealth has been proved to benefit oral health and overall health. Research by dentists in controlled environments has shown a significant reduction in cavity-causing bacteria after oil pulling process.
